About Children's Health International
"A little love is all it takes to restore dignity to our suffering children"
"It seems as though the more
technologically advanced the world
becomes, the lower the standard of
care these children receive."

  -- A.K. Aaron
History
After returning from a trip home to Ghana, Mrs. Grace Kumi Aaron
witnessed the substandard care given to children with HIV/AIDS
and other various infectious and communicable diseases.  She felt
compelled to do something about it so, she donated all personal
monetary gifts from her 50th birthday party to found Korle-Bu
Children's Project, now known as Children's Health International
(CHI).  After visiting Anum Nursery School in Ghana, however, the
members of CHI are expanding our organization to include
educational projects in addition to our healthcare projects.

Who We Are
Children's Health International is a registered non-profit
organization under the IRS tax code 501(c)(3) founded in 1998,
dedicated to saving lives, educating families, improving the quality
of education for children in developing countries, and providing
adequate health care to children with infectious and communicable
diseases.  Our first few projects have been in Ghana.

Our Mission
Children's Health International's (CHI) mission is to increase global
awareness of the plight of children in underdeveloped countries, in
order to raise the necessary funds and supplies to provide for their
care and well-being.

This is a persevering process aimed at ensuring and improving on
the provision of adequate health care and education to under
served children with dignity and compassion.

Our organization works together with physicians, nurses, teachers,
and supportive agencies at each location with the goal of fostering
conditions that are conducive to sustaining the physical and mental
well-being of all children.

Examples of supplies donated include:
  • beds
  • intravenous (IV) fluids
  • linens
  • school supplies
  • desks and chairs
  • building equipment

In June of 2005, after visiting Anum Nursery School in Ghana, West
Africa, the board members of CHI launched the
Anum Nursery
School Project.
